Our Story

A daughter’s promise, a mother’s love

For four decades, Carol’s has been a place where women facing breast cancer find not just the right fit — but comfort, dignity, and someone who truly understands.

Carol Stenquist, founder of Carol's Post Mastectomy Specialist

It began with Carol

In 1985, Carol Stenquist opened Carol’s Post Mastectomy Specialist in Salt Lake City. She wanted to create something the world didn’t have enough of — a place devoted entirely to women’s needs during the difficult time of a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

More than a shop, she imagined a place where the ladies would feel a particular kind of care: the love and compassion that only comes from a survivor. Over more than twenty years, she fitted breast forms, bras, swimwear, and lymphedema products — but what women remembered was how she made them feel.

“To help them feel the love and compassion that I feel for each and every one of them.”

Our mission, then and now

And continues with Jen

Carol’s daughter, Jen Flowers, grew up watching her mother’s compassionate work — and saw the love she had for her ladies. Carol taught her everything she knew about serving women with any breast care need, and Jen became a Certified Mastectomy Fitter, expanding the practice to Henderson, Nevada and then St. George.

When Carol passed in 2011, Jen felt even more strongly about the wonderful service her mother had started. She has carried the legacy forward ever since — now with over 20 years of her own experience, and certification in fitting lymphedema products too.

To this day, Jen considers it a genuine pleasure to serve the ladies with all their breast care needs — one unhurried, private appointment at a time.
