Why We Do What We Do
Carol Stenquist started Carol's Post Mastectomy Specialist in 1985 in Salt Lake City. She was wanting to specialize in women's needs while going through the difficult time during a mastectomy or lumpectomy. Carol wanted to make her business personal and private. A place that the ladies would feel the love and compassion that only comes from a survivor. Somewhere to cry, laugh and just feel like themselves again.
Carol's shares a unique perspective in dealing with women who have undergone the trauma of mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery. We are especially skilled at providing advice and recommendations that you will seldom experience at other stores and fitting experience with over 20 years.
Carol's features an array of innovative designs of breast prosthesis that allow you the flexibility of caring on normal activities in comfort and with confidence. We also carry mastectomy swimsuits, camisoles, soft protheses, lymphedema products, turbans, pre tied scarves, accessories and other specialty products. Carol Stenquist was a wonderful lady full of compassion and love for the ladies in the Wasatch front. Jennifer, her daughter watched her grow her business and saw the love and compassion that she had for her ladies. She was a great example and taught Jennifer all she knows about serving the ladies with any breast care needs. Not just the ladies that were going through mastectomies or lumpectomies, but also Poland syndrome, uneven breasts, and even lymphedema. Jennifer decided to work for her mother. She watched her mother for many years and thought what a wonderful thing her mother was doing.
When Jennifer decided to open a Carol's in Henderson, NV in 2000 and then another in St. George, in 2005, Carol was there to support and help grow her legacy. After Carol's death in 2011, Jennifer felt even stronger about this wonderful service that her mother started and continued the legacy on. Unfortunately in 2020, due to the pandemic, Jen had to close the doors in Henderson, but still services the lady's in any way possible.
Jennifer has been a Certified Mastectomy Fitter for more than 20 years. Carol taught her everything she knows about being compassionate and making the visit to Carol's a wonderful experience.
Jennifer is a mother of 3 boys and 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers. She has been married to her sweetheart for more than 30 years. Jennifer absolutely loves her job. In fact, she doesn't consider it a job, she considers it a pleasure to service the ladies with all their breast care needs.
